Easy Hummus
What could be more delightful than this easy hummus recipe? Today, hummus is in nearly every grocery so it would be simple to pick up a tub of it. However, I am so proud when I make something myself. I also like to know exactly what I’m eating.
Chickpeas are the main ingredient in this recipe and are a good source of dietary fiber, protein, B vitamins, manganese and other nutrients.[1] It is traditionally a Levantine and Egyptian food dip or spread made from cooked, mashed chickpeas or other beans, blended with tahini, olive oil, lemon juice, salt, and garlic, as in my recipe below.
Rob and I have been enjoying this recipe for years, actually ever since University days. We were at a get-together and I fell in love with this recipe. I’m grateful that the hostess was kind enough to share her recipe with me. Today, this is one of my go-to entertaining recipes. I hope you love it as much as Rob and I do. Let me know what you think.
