Pied Piper Eatery
Saturday night, friends of ours recommended we try the Pied Piper Eatery in East Nashville. It was late by the time we got there & we were hungry. So, we took the recommendation and found ourselves at an odd little place with an artistic flare. We had never been there before so I nervously thumbed through the menu, hopeful for a Chicken Caesar salad. There it was… the Classic Caesar Romero with Grilled Chicken for $8.50. I appreciated all the details of this cute little restaurant.
Music. Fun. Friends. Casual. Gathering place. These are all words that popped in my head as I looked around the room. Music themed art filled the walls with simplicity. Simple booths, tables – the type of place breakfast is served all day, every day.
I was pleased when the salad arrived and happy with the prompt service. To sum up my plate, the lettuce was dark green and crisp with a simple medley of fresh ingredients. Being health-minded, fresh green salads are menu items I really appreciate. All too often, healthy salads turn into raging pits of gluttony, smothered in everything from cheese to bacon… to more cheese and then there’s the dressing.
The salad itself was simple – something I could easily make on my own. The croutons were fresh & tasty, as was the lettuce… a simply medley only shadowed by the dressing. Yes – I can’t believe I’ll say it but I will… for once, I have found a dressing so delicious and rich that I could easily take a spoon and eat a whole bowl of it. I usually enjoy a salad for the fresh, crisp greenery – BUT the Pied Piper’s dressing is particularly noteworthy. Give it a try if you like a heavy, rich cheesy caesar dressing (on the side).
