10 Best Low Carb Super Bowl Snacks
Super Bowl is right around the corner and that means food. After all, Super Bowl comes with Super Bowl parties… and parties don’t happen (usually) without food. Here are a few examples of Low Carb Super Bowl snacks.
Events like Super Bowl can be a challenge. Yes – I do wear and insulin pump and a continuous glucose monitor BUT that doesn’t mean I’m food-psychic. I still need to use my best guess to estimate the carbohydrates in the foods and the potential high-fat effect.
Diabetes can be complicated, however, it is not impossible to manage. Social events take practice and even after 30 years of T1D, I still can’t seem to score a blood sugar touchdown all the time. I hope that gives you some reassurance – you are not alone.
How I Tackle Super Bowl Sunday
One way I handle social events like Super Bowl is to bring “something” that I’ve made (or host the party myself). Sorry, both take effort.
Low Carb Super Bowl Snacks
Here are a few Low Carb Super Bowl snacks I’ve come across that are fairly healthy (well, as healthy as snacks can be) to help soften the calorie laden blow and glucose gluttony of typical Super Bowl gatherings.
CAUTION: Even though a recipe may be “low carb” it doesn’t mean it’s low calorie. However, a high or low blood sugar on Super Bowl Sunday isn’t fun either. When in doubt, a simple veggie platter is always a safe bet.
