Charlestown, MA
This time on The Table, I decided to highlight a quaint area of Boston called Charlestown. Charlestown is just a hop, skip & a jump across the harbor from downtown Boston. In fact, I’m rather partial to it – it’s my personal stomping ground!
To get here, you can take a water taxi, the ferry, a trolly or, simply arrive on foot. It’s so easy to get to. The famous Boston freedom trail twists its way though Charlestown too so trust me when I say, it’s not far from other popular Boston sites.
Charlestown may be home to well known pieces of US history such as the USS Constitution and Bunker Hill, but that’s not all – it’s bursting with local hot spots, scenic waterfronts and small town charm too.
Highlights
In this video, I highlight 3 popular eateries; the Pier 6 restaurant, The Warren Tavern and Sorrelles Bakery.
Pier 6 is one of Boston’s premier eateries offering stunning waterfront views and fresh seafood. The Warren Tavern is steps from the Bunker Hill monument and is so rich with history I know that my description will not do it justice. Sorrelles is the community gathering place. In my video I primarily showcase it’s original location however, it has expanded to two more locations – a modern version also in Charlestown and another at Atlantic Warf on Congress Street. Each is a unique in its own way and all help to make Charlestown the charming town it is.
I hope you enjoy this glimpse.
