Hi, I’m Laura
I’m someone who genuinely enjoys learning. If something catches my interest, I’ll probably spend way too much time reading about it, trying it for myself, and seeing where it leads.
I love spending time in the kitchen, working in the garden, and sharing life with my husband, Rob, and our two Netherland Dwarf rabbits, Pumpkin and Spice. They keep me laughing more than they’d probably like to admit.
I was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes when I was seven years old. It’s simply been part of my life ever since. That is what led me to write Sage Being Brave, the children’s book I wish I’d had growing up.
Writing has always been something I’ve enjoyed, whether it’s helping people understand something new or telling a story that might make someone feel a little less alone. I hope Sage Being Brave does exactly that for children and families navigating a new diagnosis.
Mostly, I’m just someone who enjoys the simple things. A good meal. A project to work on. Time in the garden. A quiet evening with the bunnies. Learning something I didn’t know yesterday.
Thanks for taking the time to get to know me a little better.
